There is the option to place a highlights section on your resume. A highlights section works best for executives, managers and experienced employees because it gives them a place to display big moments in their professional careers. Highlights are milestones that don’t fit appropriately anywhere else on a resume.

This section can cover things like successfully managing a large merger or transition, increasing profits by implementing cost-saving measures or being appointed to a special board.

Students and entry-level applicants may want to create a section that highlights big moments in their academic careers. The rule is to only include a highlights section if you have information to share that will actually help a hiring manager make a decision.
